Sinclair Adams (they/she) is the author of ‘Father of Vermin’, a tale once believed unpublishable—now unearthed as one of the emotionally resonant and stylistically daring pieces in the Forbidden Fruit collection. It’s a story that tunnels under your skin, not to shock but to reveal—what we fear, what we desire, and what, deep down, we might become.
Sinclair is a fiction writer with a deep reverence for story-as-transformation. Inspired by Tolkien’s Silmarillion and guided by music, scent, and ritual, they’ve built a writing practice that embraces emotional complexity, cosmic horror, and the strange intimacy of monsters. (Yes, that kind of monster.)
In our conversation, Sinclair opened up about the long road ‘Father of Vermin’ took to exist, what it means to reframe the “monster fucker” trope with nuance, and how art becomes real when it’s no longer apologizing for itself.
🕯 Writing ritual? Candlelight and curated playlists.
🚧 Current project? Better Off Buried—and yes, it’s as unsettling as it sounds.
🎶 Creative fuel? Music that makes them feel like a final boss.
Don’t forget: Forbidden Fruit drops September 30th. Preorders are on the way, and our special edition Kickstarter launches this July, featuring bespoke edges, eerie embellishments, and hidden lore.
